A stay at Deans Place has been described by some as more like visiting your friend’s country house rather than staying at a hotel and we love that.
Yes, we are a hotel, but we don’t want you to feel you have to be on your best behaviour and can’t relax as you would at home in one of our lounges. Sit and have drinks and great food with your friends or dogs.
We have a variety of room types to suit all, from more basic rooms that offer a great value room for you to retire to at the end of a long day walking the Downs to much more spacious rooms with modern bathrooms and beautiful views across the Cuckmere Valley.
Perhaps go for a gentle stroll around the local village, a refreshing swim in our outdoor heated swimming pool or a more energetic walk or bike ride. You could also try out some of the exciting water sports on offer in nearby Seaford.
Where we are
Surrounded by four acres of beautiful gardens and nestled on the banks of the River Cuckmere in the South Downs National Park Deans Place sites on the edge of Alfriston, one of England’s prettiest villages,
Deans Place was established over 100 years ago. Originally a vast farming estate dating back to the 14th Century, Deans Place became a privately owned hotel at the beginning of the 20th Century.
